Goals Assignment

1) Reflection

Yes, there have been times where I have felt like that, when I wasn't sure what to do, mostly I feel this way when i am overwhelmed.there have been times where i have made goals that i didnt meet, for example I once made a goal to start brushing my teeth consistently and daily, but failed. It made me feel very bad and disappointed in myself. However there have been times where I have achieved a goal I set for myself. I once made a goal for myself to get a really high mark in my math class and i ended up getting 100% in that class, that made me very happy and feel very good about myself

2) S.M.A.R.T. Goals

  • State your goal.
Brushing my teeth consistently (every day)
  • B) What do you hope to achieve by reaching this goal? (Specific)
I hope to have better hygiene and feel more confident about myself
  • C) How will you know when you have achieved your goal? (Measurable)
When I can keep the habit naturally, without having to remind or reward myself
  • D) Is your goal realistic? Do you already have the necessary resources? If not, how will you get them? (Achievable)
Yes, it’s very realistic. I already have the necessary resources; I just need to motivate myself
  • E) Why is this goal meaningful to you? (Realistic)
Because I have been insecure about my teeth for a very long time. To actually work on it will be very rewarding and meaningful to me
  • F) By when will you complete this goal? (Timed)
By December 18th, 2025 (the last day of portfolio)
  • G) Why is this goal significant to you, and what benefits will you gain by achieving it?
This goal is significant for me because I have felt insecure and ashamed about my teeth for years. By taking a step in the right direction and brushing my teeth daily, they won’t get worse, my dental hygiene will improve, and my confidence will increase.

Challenges and Solutions

Potential Challenges Potential Solutions
Forgetting at nightSet an alarm
Feeling lazy/tiredRemind myself it only takes 2 minutes
Running late in the morningsBrush while getting ready

Support System

I have people that will help me pursue my goal, like my friends who I can get to shame me and remind me to brush my teeth, my family members who can both remind me and keep me accountable, and I could get a habit tracking app that could help keep me accountable and remind me.

Action Steps

  • Set an alarm at morning and night as a reminder
  • Keep toothpaste and my toothbrush visible
  • Use a checklist to track when I do and when I don’t
  • Reward myself after a week of consistent brushing
  • Reflect weekly on how this habit makes me feel

S.M.A.R.T. Goal Statement

I will start brushing my teeth more consistently, twice a day, each morning and night. I'll track my progress and have friends and family that will make sure I'm on track and hold me accountable. I will know that I have achieved this goal when I can maintain that habit naturally without reminders or rewards. I will become more confident with myself and my teeth by December 18th 2025.
